New Workshops Bring Calm, Caring and Confidence to the Marathon of Motherhood

 In Kellie Edwards

Moonee Ponds MindBody Health Centre is offering a series of specialist workshops for mothers hosted by the Centre’s own psychologist and mindfulness teacher Kellie Edwards, starting in March 2017.

Motherhood can be really tough, but you are not alone.

Parenting is often the greatest challenge we face and yet we do so with:

  • too little sleep
  • too little support and
  • too much self criticism

It’s no surprise that mothers all over the world are overworked, overtired, and overwhelmed, but experts indicate that the everyday challenges of motherhood can culminate in something known as Depleted Mother Syndrome (DMS). Resulting in a decrease in connection and patience, and an increase in stress and irritability, DMS clearly affects the happiness and wellbeing of the entire family, and takes all the joy out of parenting.

BOOK NOW AND DON’T MISS THE MINDFULNESS 4 MOTHERS WORKSHOPS – SPOTS ARE LIMITED

Although Depleted Mother Syndrome is on the rise in today’s ever-changing fast-paced world, there is hope for mothers and families that doesn’t involve medication! Mothers can now turn to workshops and an online resource for help that offer expert advice and training in mindfulness and self-compassion for women all over the world.

The program is Mindfulness 4 Mothers, developed by Kellie Edwards, a registered psychologist and mindfulness teacher in Melbourne, Australia, and is now available at our own Moonee Ponds MindBody Health Centre.

“We know mums are busy, so the best part is that it only takes 10 minutes a day to see results!” – Kellie Edwards

Online Program (included with enrolment in the Workshop)

With a combination of international expert interviews and guided practices, the online program provides mothers and mothers-to-be with lifetime access to training and tools to cope with the demands of being a mum. The goal of the training is for participants to restore their own inner calm, confidence, and a closer connection with their children.

“Mindfulness 4 Mothers is not another set of instructions on how to be a perfect mother. Far from it! It is expert self-care for any stage of pregnancy and motherhood,” said Kellie. “We know mums are busy, so the best part is that it only takes 10 minutes a day to see results!”

Interviews and exercises can be downloaded to keep and review at a time that works for subscribers in the comfort of their own home. Guests also share poignant moments of their own motherhood journey. Additionally, members can interact in the support forum led by Kellie Edwards herself.

“I designed this well-being program for mothers who want to prevent or recover from feeling the exhaustion, stress, and loss of control that often accompanies motherhood. Restorative stillness and self-compassion can be very healing: they open up greater choice in how you respond in the challenging moments of parenting,” said Kellie.

Mindfulness 4 Mothers was created by psychologist and mindfulness facilitator Kellie Edwards in collaboration with renowned experts in the fields of psychology, meditation and neuroscience. The program provides more wisdom and guidance than any one person could provide on their own.
